Fife Council passed a motion supporting the inclusion and promotion of plant based food options across council provision and events, and encouraging wider uptake through engagement with partners and local businesses, recognising the role of dietary change in addressing climate and sustainability objectives.

The motion was first reviewed by the Sustainability, Transportation and Mobility Committee, which unanimously recommended approval. It was then formally approved at the Joint Finance & General Board meeting on November 12, 2025.

Central Bedfordshire Council passed a Plant Based Treaty motion to explore ways of promoting a shift toward plant-based diets as part of its Sustainability Plan refresh, recognising the climate, environmental, and public health impacts of animal agriculture.
Bradford Council, UK
11 July 2023
Bradford Council passed a motion recognising the role of plant-based diets in addressing climate and public health goals, and requesting a report on extending plant-based catering across council-run sites as part of the delivery of its Good Food Strategy, following engagement with Plant Based Treaty resources and evidence.
